How to ensure my fingerprint will always be recognized?
You can add a few fingers from both hands as a backup in case of injury. Your safe can store 50 fingerprints so you can even add the same finger multiple times.
How to find my secret, I forgot it?
The easiest way to find your secret is dial each digit one by one while trying to open the safe with the key. The safe will open when the knob is on your secret, no need to force the key. To learn more, see: Recover your secret in the user guide.
How to find my online retailer order number?
If your safe was purchased on Amazon, please log in your Amazon account -> "Your Account" -> " Your orders", search "e-Stash" to find your order. The order number is 17 digits (#123-1234567-1234567)
How to get replacement keys (I lost them)?

Why are my fingerprints not recognized?
For the recognition to be optimal, expose the same finger 6 times in slightly different positions to increase the features captured. Make sure your finger is dry and that you only touch the sensor, there is no need to press on it.
Will I lose my fingerprints, password or time if I unplug the safe?
No, all your settings are preserved in case of a power outage.
What is the best orientation to record my fingerprints?
It doesn’t matter. The recording and matching work at any angle. The recording and matching work at any angle. However for best recognition, ensure you capture as much of your fingerprints as possible by slightly shifting them during each sampling.
In case of injury, how to ensure my fingerprint will be recognized?
Your safe can store 50 fingerprints so don’t hesitate to add a few extra fingers from both hands. Thumbs and index fingers are the best recognized.
Does a factory reset erase my fingerprints?
No, a factory reset only erases your PIN. Use [7] clear prints to erase all fingerprints.
Will my safe open with any fingerprint after I erase all of them?
For security reasons, fingerprint opening is disabled until a fingerprint is added. Even when PIN and biometric openings are disabled, you can always use the key to open your safe.
Can I disable biometric opening?
Yes, just clear all fingerprints. To re-enable biometrics add one or more fingerprints.
Does a factory reset erase my secret?
No, the secret is purely mechanical and can’t be erased electronically. You can only change it by following the instruction to Change the Secret Position.
What is the default secret when I receive my safe?
The default secret is 0. We recommend that you change it with [6] set secret
Can I disable the secret latch?
No, it is an integral part of INV’Z security and safety. If your PIN or key is found, the secret is the last safety between your child and a gun. It also ensures that the lid can’t be released due to an impact.
Can I use the off position as secret?
No, off is purposely not a secret position so it can be safely dialed when the safe is unused and guarantee the secret latch is engaged.
Does the secret latch block the key / PIN or fingerprint opening?
Yes, when the secret latch is engaged, it blocks the 3 opening ways by preventing the 3 latches from releasing.
Does the secret latch protect my safe when it’s powered off?
Yes, the secret latch is purely mechanical and doesn’t require electrical power to work. It’s also why it can’t be reset, only changed manually.
Can I disable PIN opening?
Yes, factory reset the safe
Will I lose my password if I unplug the safe?
No, all your settings are preserved in case of a power outage.
How to input less than 8 digits for my PIN (input only stops after 8 digits)?
Long press the knob (>1 s) to shortcut the input. Note that the last digit on which you pressed the knob will be part of your PIN.
I see 9 spaces to input my PIN but it can only be 8 digits long, why is that?
If your secret is different from the last digit of your PIN, you need to input it as well. So even with a 8 digit PIN you might need to input 9 numbers for a potential 1Bn combinations.
Why can’t I set a 3 digits PIN?
3 digits don’t allow for enough combinations. To enforce best security practice, INV’Z requires a PIN to be at least 4 digits.
What is the default PIN to open the safe?
For security reasons, there is no default PIN. A factory reset disables PIN opening until a code is set. Even when PIN and biometric openings are disabled, you can always use the key to open your safe.
Can the PIN be hidden when inputting it?
Yes, you can hide the PIN input by enabling stealth mode.
Where are the keys?
They are in the packaging, in a small white box in front of the safe
Are there pre-drilled holes for mounting?
Yes, 2 holes at the bottom of your safe. They are plugged with short screws by default
Can it be wall mounted?
We don’t recommend it since the LCD screen will be hard to read and the content of the safe might fall off when opening, also it will look suspicious as an audio appliance.
Can it be mounted upside down (like under a desk)?
We don’t recommend it since the LCD screen will be hard to read and the content of the safe is likely to fall off when opening. However using fingerprints, it’s easy to open the safe upside down if you find a way to hold its content.
What cable can I use to power my safe (I need more than 2 m)?
INV’Z can use any standard USB power cable with a type-C male connector.
Can I replace the USB power supply (My outlet already has USB ports)?
INV’Z can use any standard USB power supply, it only requires 5V, 2A (any phone charger should work) and a type-C male connector.
Does it allow anyone to open the safe out of the box or after a reset?
No. At e-Stash we take security seriously, INV’Z doesn’t have easy to guess default PIN or default code at all. Erasing fingerprints or resetting to factory settings disable biometrics and PIN opening.
Does it have an alarm in case someone repeatedly tries to find my PIN?
No, alarms are unsafe. If you make a mistake, they will betray your presence and prevent you from defending yourself when you need your weapon the most. We enforce a minimum PIN strength and 9 digits delayed input in case of error so it would take an attacker months to brute force your PIN.
Is there a cable to tie the safe to a support?
No, it gives a wrong sense of security. Even bike lock cables are easily cut in mere seconds. To secure your safe, bolt it down using the mounting points.
Does it beep?
No, this safe is quiet.
